Good controller for wireless usb
I got this controller to play ufo 50 and pico 8 games. It works great once you switch it to x-input mode (start+b for 5 seconds). Paired easily with the usb. The screenshot and home buttons are for switch mode only. The controller has an auto shutoff after a few minutes as opposed to a shutoff button. you can also disconnect the usb dongle to shut it down sooner. buttons feel good and responsive. Great controller!

Decent Retro Controller for the Price, Works Well for Casual Gaming
The Retro-Bit Origin 8 2.4 GHz Wireless Controller offers a fantastic nostalgic experience and works seamlessly across a variety of devices.Pros: It pairs easily with my Desktop PC running Windows 10 and my Laptop with Windows 11, with no issues at all. It also works great with my Nintendo Switch, providing a smooth experience. The classic grey design feels authentic and adds to the retro charm. Wireless connectivity is reliable, and it's simple to set up.Cons: After prolonged use, the buttons tend to stick, which can become annoying during extended gaming sessions. There’s also occasional lag, especially when switching between devices. Despite these minor drawbacks, it’s a solid choice for retro gaming enthusiasts looking for a versatile controller.Overall, it’s a decent controller for retro gaming at a budget-friendly price. It may not be perfect, but for the cost, it’s certainly worth it if you’re looking for a functional and nostalgic option.

Will not fit your original NES don’t bother ordering.
The wireless dongle for use with the original NES port is extremely loose and falls out immediately without fail. Whoever CAD this model left their millimeter gauge at home and guessed the dimensions for the actual port. The controller cannot pair to the receiver because it cannot maintain a connection due to the fit.Don’t waste your money on this garbage.

Works Great With the retroUSB AVS
I was a little skeptical with some of the other reviews saying that the receiver would constantly fall out of the controller port and they were unable to bind the controller, but for this price it was worth the risk.I am happy to say I had absolutely none of these issues when using it with my retroUSB AVS. I very much prefer the style and feel of this controller over its 8bitdo counterpart. If you are looking for something that feels exactly like an NES controller, this isn't for you. But if you are looking for something that is convenient, comfortable and reliable I can certainly recommend this!

Good Controller with Compatibility Issues on Android TV
I recently corresponded with Retro-Bit’s support team regarding some issues I faced with the Origin 8 controller, specifically when used with Android TV and RetroArch. The controller didn’t properly recognize the L, R, Home, or Share buttons. The Retro-Bit team suggested a Reddit post for guidance, but it didn’t address my specific problem. I discovered the issue was with the 2.4g USB dongle of the Origin 8 controller, which wasn’t transmitting button signals correctly to the Android driver. On OSX, the controller worked flawlessly, indicating a firmware issue rather than a hardware problem. When I reached out for further support, Retro-Bit informed me that the controller was not originally designed for Android TV, and compatibility might be limited due to custom code used in Android TV. They suggested that resolving this might be challenging, but forwarded the issue to their development team without a definite timeline for a solution.I appreciated their honesty and the effort to escalate the issue, though I was slightly disappointed by the lack of a direct communication channel for firmware updates. The support team was responsive but clearly stated they couldn’t promise a timeline for a resolution due to other ongoing projects.Overall, I like the Origin 8 controller and find it to be a unique product. However, the current firmware issues with Android TV compatibility are a setback. I hope Retro-Bit can address these issues, as I would be interested in purchasing more units once resolved. The controller itself is great, but the lack of effective communication and uncertainty about firmware updates leads me to rate this experience 3 stars.

Awesome retro controller!
It works great! I love the classic look and feel of it. It syncs easily with my Nintendo Switch and I’m able to use it on the newer Super Mario U Deluxe as well as the original NES Mario Bros games online. The only hiccup I had was figuring out that I had to remap the button configuration in the gam for the A and B buttons to work as expected. By default the X,Y,A,B button configuration is set to have A and B both as jump and X and Y are run or shoot. You have to flip that when using this classic controller so you can get A to be Jump and B to be run or shoot. Other than that, I highly recommend this controller!
