Kale Seed Assortment- Red Kale (500 Seeds), Black Kale (400), and Siberian Kale (500)

I planted the Russian kale in early September, and had impressive germination rate sown directly outdoors. I used a row cover for a few light frosts (30 - 32 degrees). Had a nice harvest right before a week of hard freezes (mid twenties). Very tastey, and nice color in potato and kale soup.Am saving the other seeds for this coming spring. Note -- I live near Philadelphia, and we had unusually warm weather this fall.

I'm getting close to 100% germination, and the seeds have only been in starter pots for 5 days. I didn't count them (as another reviewer did), so I can't tell if I got the the full number. But as a home gardener, I almost never use all the seeds in a packet. I certainly don't need 1400 kale plants!

I'm actually really disappointed. I gave 4 stars because I love what this company is doing. I'm not the guy to where everything has to be exact or anything, but when a company promises 500, 400, and 300 plus seeds and puts in about 300, 250, and 150 it's just kind of disappointing. Don't get me wrong though, great seeds at an excellent value. If you're just looking to start some plants, these are perfect and will give you the best quality type of plant (heirloom). This review is mainly for the company to just make some adjustments. Overall I was pleased, but just a little disappointed.

I have puirchased many different types of seeds from Ohio Heirloom Seeds. Rarely am I disappointed. This Kale variety pack is no exception. The seeds had an excellent germination rate and I was eating kale less than a month after planting them. As fast as I take they continue to regenerate. I still have plenty of seeds for a fall planting. I highly recommend this seller.

Although "Organic" and "Non GMO" are not a deciding factor in my purchases - QUALITY is the number one deciding factor.Our kale seeds germinated within 3 days and they are strong health plants. We eat our kale young and then replant - and we will get a full seasons worth of greens from Ohio Heirlooms packets.Great seed company, will be buying from them again in the future.

if you love to grow kale you know how much better it is after a frost. i may have waited too long to get these seeds in this year but only about 1/4th came up and have not done as well as other varieties. will plant more next year because i have the seeds but will plant earlier and hope it works better.

I love this seller. Prompt service excellent products. The kale germinated quickly and has grown nicely. The leaves are a deeper color than the picture suggests and they taste great.
