Works well
Illuminates pitch black so you can see like a bright lamp is on

Works well for PSVR2 tracking
I bought this as I read online the PSVR2 uses infrared cameras. Having a setup in the front room with a projector the room can be very dark. Granted we could put the lights on but it kills the ambiance. This works really well. The room is pitch black but when on and VR on the room is fully illuminated, crazy. Really helps with the tracking. Only reason for me it didn't get 5 stars is the mounting, its meant to be for outdoor use so on a wall, so doesn't look good laying on a shelf. That's the only criticism so 4.5 for me. By the way it's not a camera, just an infrared light.

Highly Recommend
I can not understand the negative comments of this infra red light. As you can see by my two photos, the darker one is my ring outdoor security camera light and the second much brighter is with this light switched on along with it. There’s a massive difference in the quality of the night vision. Those of you that are not happy with the light this infra red light gives off, I suggest you invest in a highly expensive one and not just spend under £30 and expect it to give the light that a football pitch floodlight gives. I challenge anyone to buy a cheaper unit and get the quality of night vision this unit gives. Don’t listen to the negative comments as this is a cracking unit for the money. My pictures don’t lie. By the way a tip for positioning of the light, make sure it’s secured and pointing in the same direction of your video camera and not pointing towards it or across it as this will not give you 100% of the benefit this light gives out. .....Added 19th April 2025 This unit is now just over 3 years old. Been on 24/7 and is still working as good as the first day I fitted it.

Does everything I needed it to do
Happy with this product. It is used as an additional illuminator to light up areas of the yard which the main illuminator can't reach and as such it is more than adequate. As there is another light involved its hard for me to say exactly the extent of its coverage but it definitely illuminates 20+m in front of it. The other thing I like about it is it looks very much like an additional camera and the red lights at night make it stand out a wee bit too so that can only be good as a deterrent factor. (My other light is just a simple rectangular face and just looks like a normal security light). The short cord to the connector may be an issue for some but this is entirely dependent on individual situations so i'm not going to mark it down for that. I had to buy an extension lead for my situation and so far it has worked perfectly on that.

Impossible angle
I have had the previous version of the illuminator running in my window for 3+ years now .It has been very useful and totally reliable. This new version has a completely different base/swivel design which does not allow the device to bend down to 90 degrees from the base, it look like 95-100 degrees. This means that it will point off at an awkward angle from whatever surface you attach it to. For my purposes this version is absolutely useless and I can't imagine what they were thinking by changing a perfectly good design for this.

Very good.👍👍
Had this up for almost exactly 3 years and it still works perfectly. It lights up my detached garage from my house which is around 30 feet away.Definitely recommended.👍👍

Unimpressive coverage
The casing quality and design adequate for external use however I don’t get the impression the unit could take many winters if installed in an exposed position.Installation was simple, 3 screws to fix tue base then plug it in.There is no movement sensor to control the light state, it is therefore always on subject to light conditions which the unit can detect.I do not agree with how the effective beams strength and coverage is reported. However each situation is different so it’s very difficult to asses actual performance from the description. Basically the beam creates a ‘spotlight’ effect around 3 meters distant and 2 meters diameter. Beyond that just creates murky grey shadows in an IR caught image. For me, I want an even spread of light for my IR camera to capture a full frame of clear and consistently light images. Instead, this device creates a bright spot saturating the Center of the IR recorded image.I’d recommend for close quarters night vision IR camera usage and perhaps an aide to vermin control measures beyond that prepare to adjust expectations.Be mindful It’s not a high end solution.

"Does what it says on the tin"
These lamps are of a decent build quality, except for the "ball joint" connection on the bracket. This is very difficult to adjust as it is not particularly well engineered, although it is all aluminium. I had to tighten the collar with a mole-wrench in order to achieve the required torque. It is also supplied with a 2.1mm DC connector on a cable which is ridiculously short, which means that making a weatherproof connection is a trial. I enclosed the connector in a weatherproof terminal box, which I mounted right next to the lamp. The performance is very good, providing (in my case) an even flood pattern over a distance of about 20 metres. The main body is strong (looks like die-cast aluminium) and should last a long time.I did not use the power adapter provided as I do not trust the "plug in the wall" type power adapters. I personally (for the sake of safety) used a "power brick" type, with a regulated output of 12 Volts DC, and rated at 20 Watts (1.8 Amps), but this is only my personal preference.I would recommend this item.
