The OMM Kamleika Race Smock II Running Jacket is extremely soft and stretchy allowing it to fit tight to your body to reduce flapping fabric and noise. The Kamleika Smock stretches to allow complete freedom of movement while keeping you protected. The fully featured Mountain Hood keeps you out of the elements, with adjustable volume across the crown and elastics to adjust the face area. If you're not using the hood it rolls away and ties down to keep it out of the way. There is an extended front water resist YKK zip with a two way puller allowing venting whilst the zip is closed. The Smock is a more athletic fit than its counterparts aimed at the more extreme user, it also has elasticated cuffs and thumb loops as well as a single chest pocket and a elasticated draw cord to the hem.

OMM Kamleika Race Smock
I love this smock! It oozes quality from the moment you unwrap it. The material is slightly stretchy and has taped seams all over, the double zips on the front and the pocket zip are waterproof. It has pull tab adjustment around the bottom and three around the hood, the hood also rolls away and is secured with a velcro tab. The OMM logo on the arms and on the back are also very reflective which is good if you like to run in the dark.So far, and with only two 6 mile runs in the rain i would totally recommend this smock, it kept me dry, is quiet with only a slight rustle, and felt great to run in. My only negative would be that it doesn't vent that great leaving me slightly damp.******EDIT******After using this for a few more runs i can report that this is a lot more durable that you may think from such thin material. I took a tumble on a very muddy bridleway, landed on my left elbow on a muddy and stony surface, and expected to see a gaping hole on the elbow, there was nothing!!

Great durable lightweight jacket
This is a great running jacket. Not quite as superlight as some others, but will stand up to the odd scrape with rocks, brambles etc. The fit is slim but the material is kind of stretchy, all in all feels very comfy to run in. Of course, like all these jackets, don't expect to wear this in mild conditions and for its breathability to keep up with your sweating. Rather, if you have experience and a fleecy / merino layer or two underneath, this will keep the wind off you in bitterly cold fell-top conditions. The only negative (as some others have noted) is that the chest pocket is far too weak to put anything in there beyond a snickers bar. However, if you are using this for its intended purpose, you will be wearing a pack or at least a substantial belt anyway...

I had researched my purchase thoroughly and was initially very happy with the smock
This smock immediately impressed when I received it. I had researched my purchase thoroughly and was initially very happy with the smock. It was extremely light, looked great and fitted well. On a long run with heavy rain it kept me dry and was very breathable. The kamleika material is soft and stretchy, very comfortable. Why the single star? Unfortunately on two separate occasions (I had a replacement jacket issued) the chest pocket liner detached from the smock body, causing my mobile phone to fall out on to the ground. It may be that the chest pocket isn't designed to carry a mobile, and certainly the fault appeared to be caused by a simple mechanical stress on the adhesive attaching the pocket to the smock. For me that is a significant flaw. My phone weighs 122 grams, which is really the weight of a big bunch of keys or whatever. Its not a significant weight and the inability of the smock pocket to hold it is a massive issue for me. It just doesn't give confidence that the pocket would be durable long term even with lesser items in it.Maybe I am expecting too much. Disappointed to report this, but for it to happen to two smocks after two runs in each suggests a serious flaw.

this is a great product, the best I've owned
I use this to fell run in scotland, running between 10-25 miles over bog and burn. this is a great product, the best I've owned. It packs into it's pocket - after a wee bit of practice. It is a two way zipper (which allows you to open the lower one which really helsp vent me when I'm on the hills, or an upper traditional zipper down vent (which i prefer less as it opens the materail to move around more. I've also own a wee microlite montane top - which is nowhere near as waterproof, and I use for a day where a wee intermittent shower is expected, or if I'm running only 7-10 miles on the hills. If it's a clammy wet day, it can be a wee bit sticky inside - I usually on wear a short sleeve wicky top underneath the waterproof on those days, or in winter where i only use a long sleeve merino wool top (these are amazing and comfortable). The hood may be the only area for a wee gripe ( i should say, I really don't like hoods up when running as it stops you hearing cars/ gives poorer visibility and leads to the amplified noises of my ear brushing the material - I much prefer my innovate waterproof winter baseball cap). The top is stretchy and fits well for me ( i am slim), it's easy on, easy off. It has a slighly bigger lower lumbar area ( a bit like the cyclist waterproof.. helping prevent splash back to your bum). the colour looks ok, a wee bit funkier than others .. with the buddhist sounding "Ommm" !! ..

Best friend on a 100 miler in inclement weather
Used this for my first 100 miler. It rained throughout the night, but this didn't fail me. It's a bit heavier than the competition, but it has proved quite durable.
