I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and thought this might still work for my baby's 5 month photoshoot... The top was barely a nipple cover on her and the tail was so stretched out on her you could see her diaper and legs completely. It was actually funny lol. This is super cute for a small baby, mine was about 17lbs. I only used the headband in the end and went with a back up outfit.

I bought this for a trip to my country so I can take pictures of my daughter at the beach and she look adorable everyone was saying how cute she looked!!

As advertised. Bought it for an expectant couple who have a mermaid thing. They were thrilled.

Colors are as advertised. The top is not symmetrical, but I should be able to fix it with some sewing. A couple of the pearls came off in shipping, but I can also fix these with some new glue after I get done with the sewing. The tail is a bit curled from shipping, which isn't a huge deal because I can iron it flat.All in all, this little costume is darling for the money. The crochet is nicely done and the material used is soft baby yarn. It'll be perfect once I make those alterations I listed above.I like that the bottom has a tie in it, which makes it adjustable. My baby isn't due until August, but the headband and top look like they should be small enough to fit a newborn.I'm happy with the purchase, but it isn't perfect. If you're handy with a sewing kit and have some fabric glue laying around, it should be as close to perfect as you'll get for around $10.***EDIT***It took me about 10 minutes to fix the top.I easily popped off the pearls and carefully picked off the old hot glue. This exposed a single string which was binding the middle. I untied the string and moved it to a more desirable spot, then used Tacky Glue to replace the pearls.Because this was a super easy fix and because I'm happier with this product now, I've upped my 3-star review to 4. The first 3 photos show the items as they came and the last 2 show my end result, (the glue is still drying and will end up clear).
