WHOA!
This is definitely a strong magnet. The hook arrived as a separate piece that I was supposed to screw into the top. Hahaha. The magnet sucked it right out of my hand and I had significant difficulty separating the metal from the magnet.I purchased this with the intent of stud finding, retrieving metal objects dropped behind the washer, and collecting sewing pins when I drop the whole box on the floor. It works perfectly for all of these. Could probably pull my car into the garage, too.It is a little heavy. You wouldn't want to take it backpacking. (I am afraid it might mess with my scale if I try to weigh it!) The size is reasonable. And I will never lose it because it will forever be attached to my metal tool box.

does what it should
As claimed, the magnet is really strong for its size. I got the 2 inch one to remove a security tag from an item i purchased. Its happened enough times over the years that i figured i'd just invest in a magnet rather than spend the time/gas going back to the store. There is a trick to doing it and suggest looking up a video on it if you're having trouble. Now that i have it, im sure i'll have more uses for it. Sweeping it over my work area outside for nails and such comes to mind. For now, I've decided to keep it in the box it came in with the thick padding to keep it from sticking to other metal things bc its so strong

Very Strong Magnet
I'm not entirely sure how to measure the pull force on this to verify, but you definitely do not want to stick this to something that you don't intend to. Insanely strong magnet.

Strong Magnet
Magnet is very strong, but remember you need a sizable piece of metal to get the maximum bonding. It didn’t work for pulling the steel back off a watch.

Strong magnet
I dont know the weight, but I got 2 of these (a year apart) and it takes everything I got to get one off the lathe bed.

Power enough for my needs
Purchased to see if these were capable of supporting temporary curtains. Will be purchasing more.

Wipes credit cards and holds strong
Wow. This is so strong it ruined all my cards in my wallet.I'm using it to hold a drill press to my metal workbench in a trailer. These are strong. Works perfectly.

Good but the weight is not right at all
So I bought two variants for getting dents out of my car and it so far is not bad but there are a couple concerns. The two I bought are the largest one and about the middleman of the sizes. The largest one says 1000 plus pounds but I’m able to easily pull it off of any surface so far. It’s about 200 pounds maybe max. The medium one is about the same too. Just take the value advertised and divide by 5 and that’s about the total weight. I will say that if you stick the magnets together they are about 1/2 of the advertised weight to pull them apart. They are nice for the price but just not honest on the weight holds. Would recommend for smaller dents at the highest level, then again it’s not what it’s intended for so. Up to you to decide.
