Worth the money
Made in the USA. UL listed. Safe and very useful. Large enough to hold several ceramic containers of food or 2 of the large foil containers. Used on counter top. Counter stays cool. Adjustable temperature. Very worth the money. Cord is not long so I place on the counter near outlet. I used foil on top for the first use because I didn't want the ceramic to scratch the stainless. I used Fiestaware which is perfect but a little rough on the bottom. Had the food on the warmer several hours. Did not burn or dry out.

Great for holiday serving!
These extra-large warming trays are really big and will be great for keeping multiple dishes warm for holiday serving. I did notice one cold spot in the top right corner, but it's only about the size of a small hand, so I just won't put a long or large dish in that area. The rest of the tray got nice and hot (so beware!), and they will be an asset for our big family get-togethers. They were packaged very nicely. They arrived very quickly, although it was the day after they were promised, but that could have been the shipper; I'd placed the order enough in advance that it wasn't a problem. I would recommend them.

Great way to keep foods warm
Had a smaller version of this for over a decade, needed more room & this fit my needs.

Mine arrived defective.... only heats up ...
Mine arrived defective....only heats up to 100 degrees F (not the 200 degrees it's supposed to).....which is dangerous for food safety, so be careful and check yours if you order one. I'll be returning this one.

Great Product!
Ordered and arrived on time. Unpackaged it and used the very next day for a social function. Performed very well and we will be using it for more corporate functions in the near future. Excellent product!Just a suggestion, it would be nice to have a signal light that would light up when unit is still hot so servers are aware of it being still hot after the unit was shut off and cooling down.

food safety from fridge!
I thought I would write this in case it is helpful for anyone looking for the same thing.I wanted a food warming tray that could take food from the refrigerator and get it to food-safe temperatures in a brief enough time, so that this would be a safe way to heat food. In our case, in a hotel where we would not have other warming options for catered food delivered cold hours earlier (and kept in the refrigerator).I'm not a food scientist, and I take no liability for anyone else's results, but here is what I did if it is useful:I did scientific trials taking a pan of ice water and a pan of room-temperature water and heating them with a candy thermometer at the highest heat setting on this warming tray. I took (time, Temp) data for an hour in each case, covered and uncovered. The ice didn't make much difference - it was melted and the water was room temperature in just a few minutes. So the rest of the data is what I got for room-temperature water.UNCOVERED - this does NOT reach food-safe temperatures in time - at well over an hour, the temperature was still hovering under 130 F, and food-safe is understood to be at least 140 F.COVERED - this DID reach food-safe temperatures in time - at just under an hour, the temperature was about 170 F.Please note that the product's instructions say not to heat food from fridge temps, but in my experiment, I will be confident in doing so for my own family, provided that the pans are covered (and have enough liquid in them for heat transfer). Please do your own experiments to confirm before using this!

Safe, effective (and guaranteed to burn out in a couple of years when used as a plata)
This plata is a gem for Shabbes. Put your food on in the morning before shul and throw a heavy blanket or towel over it and you'll have stinging hot food in time for lunch. Keep the towel from touching the surface and don't use any plastic containers or lids -- they'll melt. You can put glass or earthenware directly on it safely, but to minimize burning, use a quilted cookie sheet as a baffle. (This practice traps a lot of heat and shortens the lifespan of the unit.)What I do: I put 2 large cookie sheets side-by-side directly on the surface to prevent burning, then put all the food on top of the cookie sheets, then I put 2 more large cookie sheets over top of the food to make a smooth top cover. Then I drop a blanket over the top cookie sheets, and keep the blanket from touching the heating surface. (All the cookie sheets are separate pieces held by nothing more than gravity, and no tucking is involved, so most opinions allow this. Check with your Rabbi.)Cons: Guaranteed to burn out after a couple of years because you are using it to trap heat and raise the temp of cold food, so it gets much hotter than it was designed for. (It's primary use is to actually keep hot food hot, not warm up cold food. And this appliance will not warm up cold food in a reasonable amount of time unless you trap heat as described above.)All it is is a thermal wire with high resistance inside a steel box. There is no actual heating element, and therefore there are no serviceable parts inside.Pros: It's definitely better than other platas because it is NOT a fire hazard. It's absolutely safe.

Works as designed
Though it arrived with a scratch (looks like from a knife used to open an outer box before it was transferred to an Amazon box and shipped to me), since I planned to use it that day, I decided to keep it.Functionally, it worked great! I like the length, width and height of it. I was able to fit 1 large round Corningware, 1 small round Corningware, 1 square Pyrex, and 1 metal tray from the toaster oven.On the 3rd setting it was pretty hot, however I also didn’t feel that it would have scalded me if I accidentally touched the surface. We used it again this morning to keep a plate of pancakes and a plate of bacon warm (rather than warming them in the oven as we usually do when cooking a larger batch). All in all, it is very simple to use, a nice size, a sleek design, and does its job well.
