They’re Strong!
These are accepted by our city’s composter. I have used different compostable bags and my biggest complaint is that they tear easily, sometimes even just pulling off the roll. These are so strong and don’t seem to leak very much at all! I put it in my countertop container and can fill it to top of container and still have room to tie it off. And, best of all, it doesn’t tear when filled!!

Strong and reasonably priced.
I get all my compostable bags from here. I haven’t had one bag tear since I started using this brand a year ago.

These are lightweight, compostable, pet litterbox bags for daily litterbox "patrol" cleanup.
I started using these compostable plastic litterbox bags because I witnessed the Great Pacific Ocean Plastic Island and saw a recent video of a baby whale that suffocated from a plastic bag shortly after birth with the mother nesting with him for many days trying to revive him. I decided then and there to make every effort to avoid plastic bags wherever possible. I found these compostable plastic cat litter bags to be useful for disposing of any organic waste in the garbage stream...a good place to start!

These are the best
These are the best food compost bags I’ve found. They hold up for several days without leaking or falling apart. I’ve tried several brands and like these best.

Holds up pretty well.
We use these for our compost bin that sits on our kitchen sink. They’re pretty durable, but I wish all the compost bags out there where more affordable. I would love to see Senior discounts, we’re on fixed incomes and although we’re helping with the environment, it feels like we’re buying an expensive item.

Leaks some liquid but stays intact
I haven't tried any other brand of compostable bags. I just bought this brand because the price seemed more reasonable than Bio-Bags and it was on the approved list of Recology (the garbage company that serves my neighborhood in the SF bay area). I have a 10" high step trash can from Target (the Threshold step can with the plastic inner bucket) and this fits the inner bucket perfectly. I dump food scraps into the trash can over the course of 1 week and then take it out on garbage day. When I lift the bag out of the bucket, there are some drops of moisture at the bottom of the bucket but the bag itself is intact. I don't know how it would perform though if compost has been in the bag for more than 1 week. When garbage day comes, I just knot the top of the bag, toss it into our compost garbage bin, and then line the bucket with a fresh EcoSafe bag.Btw, I have never had a problem with the compost smelling while inside the step can, as long as I empty it every week. Just a tip for those of you who are considering buying one of those special composting bins with the carbon filters on the covers (I have heard that fruit flies can lay eggs in them). All you really need is a trash can with a well-fitting lid!

Not all of them fully open
These are sturdy bags that don't rip as easily as other compostable bags I've used. The only negative is that some of them don't fully open up at the bottom, so instead of a rectangular bag, the two bottom corners are folded and pinched together and the bag can't hold as much. Not all are like that...some rolls are fine.

Ecofriendly
Unless I was extremely careful opening up a bag, I found that they unfortunately split. It is possible that I just got a weak batch.

Holds compost and decomposes quickly
- Note that the bags have a round bottom (as opposed to a square bottom) so the length of the bag needs to be in excess of the height of the bin you put it in (else, it will slip off the lip).- The bag holds in odors, so as long as your bin has a good lid, your house shouldn't stink of decaying compost.- The bag decomposes very quickly - within a week of putting it in the composter. This is a huge positive if you are concerned about environmental impact.- I will caution that you probably want to change the bag every week (even if it isn't full), just because it does start to decompose in the bin, at which point it will leak and ooze into your bin.- The bags themselves are sufficiently sturdy to hold a decent amount of compost. However, the plastic is quite thin, to overfilling the bag will likely cause it to rip (I've had maybe two such issues in the past year).- The full bags can also be stored outside in the winter, where the cold prevents decomposition - the bag will therefore hold the compost for weeks, when left outside in the cold

EcoSafe-6400 HB3550-85 Certified Compostable Bag, 45-Gallon, Green (Pack of 90)
Just received these bags and have not had a chance to use them yet. I did fit one to my Food Waste bin and it is a great fit. Once my original bags are gone, I can revisit this review and comment on the Sturdiness and Durability.

That they actually fit in my bin
I was very pleased with the compost bags, especially the size. I had a hard time finding a bag that fit in my compost bin. I wanted a liner for the bin and I find that these work for me. I do think the price is very high.
