Richard Bergendi Double Belgian Waffle Maker, Waffle Iron, 1200 W, Non Stick Plates, Variable Temperature Control

I was looking for a waffle machine and must have looked seriously at a dozen. I liked this one because it was in my budget, I liked the round, quartered shape of the waffles, it is a double and the power level is high. I was a bit worried that when I looked, there were no other reviews, but since it ticked all my boxes I thought I would give it a go.I'm pleased I tried it. Do follow the instructions of heating it up first - there will be a smell - it does disappear. I have had this for a few days and made waffles about 5 times now - all fine. I keep the setting just below full power and I cook the waffles for 7 minutes. When you take them out and flip them over onto a plate, they crisp up and I have to say that they are lovely. I'm using a recipe I found online [...] and they are delicious.The machine itself is great - the plates are brilliantly non-stick. I use a squirt of 1-cal vegetable oil on each plate before pouring the batter and I haven't needed to clean them. The waffles do steam when they cook - to the point of little drops of water coming off the front, but no problems. One slight oddity is that the top is not at all tight fitting - it just rests down on the waffles and I think this seems to allow for a bit of expansion when cooking.I do recommend the machine - I've been very pleased with the results.

For the money, it's not too bad and you shouldn't be too disappointed with it. The waffle bays are slightly too shallow. The lights aren't always reliable. Would I recommend it? I am not sure. It's not a bad product at all but you might want to consider looking at alternative options if you have time.

Purchased as a gift for my daughter. There are a few different brands but I chose this one based on the reviews and the higher wattage (1,200W compared to 700W on some of the others) and its a similar price.Makes nice waffles, assuming you get the right mix and perfectly non-stick as described. Easy to clean.Arrived within a few days and was very well packaged.Definitely recommended.

There is something not right with the design of this waffle iron, it does not close properly hence there are areas of the waffle not cooked properly. I would like to return this item

In the process of returning this. I really wanted it to be as good as the other reviews said, but after following the instructions (heating it up for 5 minutes to get rid of the chemical coating and then unplugging it and letting it cool) and then plugging it back in, it no longer turned on. No heat, no lights, nothing. I tried replacing the fuse but that didn't help. Perhaps this is a one off electrical fault, but I'm very disappointed.

This is so good I've got another one for someone's Christmas box, we have used our one on more than one occasion with no complaints. We can recommend this in full.
