This product does indeed cool the CPU effectively. It's small and, at low RPM, is fairly quiet. At high RPM it whines. The whine can be negated with noise-cancelling headphones. That said, the mounting position of this thing is a constant pain in the A*S when I'm typing. The screws that hold this onto the computer are in the way all the time. Going forward I'm going to use this only when I'm using CPU intensive applications, games mostly. A more intelligent design would have the fan away from the computer and out of the way. This would also enable a more powerful and effective fan for better cooling along with more sound proofing.

this is a very good idea to go on the cheap on a regular lap top that may have fan issues.I did not expect this to make my computer cooler, but I did expect it to keep it from overheating, and that worked just fine.as I have a Mac this cooler does not work for apple computers but I have my Mac stationary on a table so I have the fan blowing on it anyways.for a regular windows computer this works great, attaches fine and keep the pc from overheating.the only negatives I found were:-does not fit properly Mac.- can't close the lid of the laptop for the bolts are attached to the base of the laptop.overall this is a great solution for a laptop that overheats.

1. The screw arms on this prevent my laptop from closing.2. The silicone sleeves are way too wide for my lenovo z50 laptop, leaves a gap where there should be fan-to-vent contact.3. It comes with this weird bag of rubber pieces that have no use.4. The base-arm that you attach to hold the bottom has these weird magnets in them, not trusting them past the 1 minute I had the fan on.

Not too bad. don't hope for ice cold laptop but does cool(move hot air away) better than any cooling pad design I've tried.

The booklet is very complicated to determine adjusting cooler settings for the device it is hooked up to, beyond that seems to work great.
