DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT
Absolute garbage. Broken screw mounts out of the box. As soon as I took the case off in order to wire in the connections, bits of broken plastic fell out of the casing. Two switches were purchased and it was the same on both.

A smarter dimmer switch...
I've already got a similar inline dimmer switch made by iolloi on one of my lamps and it's been great but it's very small which looks good but made it very tricky to wire up. By comparison this one is huge and resembles a floor switch to use with your foot, although iolloi expressly say you shouldn't do that, and therefore it's much easier to fit. There are four screws underneath to remove which reveal a surprisingly large PCB inside and you need to pull off the control knob to release this. The device needs both Live and Neutral connections (to enable the Zigbee circuitry) and there are full sized screw connectors on opposite sides of the PCB and holes in the case for your cables to emerge. It's all quite straightforward and shouldn't take more than a few minutes to install.Used a straightforward dimmer switch it's every easy, push to switch on/off and twist to change the brightness and although the knob spins freely the electronics inside remember the last brightness you set next time you switch on. If you're contemplating spending this much on an inline dimmer then you're probably interested in the Zigbee functionality which turn it into a smart dimmer you can use with a smartphone app, Zigbee remote or a voice assistant like Alexa. This feature will only work paired with a Zigbee hub like the one built into the Amazon Echo devices (not the Echo Dot) which then makes it available to control via your home network. That took a couple of attempts but eventually it worked fine for me but I couldn't get it to work directly with a Zigbee remote control I have from another brand, they wouldn't pair but the remote is probably locked to devices of its own brand. Compatibility will vary depending on which devices you have but a general Zigbee hub (like in Amazon Echo) seems to work fine. This adds another level of control to your lamp but I can't help thinking a smart bulb would do much the same at lower cost, except the advantage with this switch is that it's working in conjunction with your smart home system instead of in conflict with it. For example, if you fit a smart bulb to any light fitting and someone switches that light off using the wall switch then the smart bulb is then offline and can't be controlled anymore. If someone switches off or dims this switch then you can still control it from your smartphone or digital assistant, the physical switch doesn't override the smart controls or vice versa. If that seems useful to you then this is a very clever and useful device although it seems a bit flimsy, somewhat oversized and a little pricey.

Do not buy this item
Bought this dimmer, very cheap and it shows plastic case fell apart, doesn’t turn light on or off, on permanently, fader did work, absolute rubbish. Do yourself a favour and buy something a little more substantial.

Good Zigbee inline dimmer but very loud component hum so not good for bedside lamps

Great idea, but sadly the device was let down by bad cable housing that causes a huge risk
The idea is very good, but the implementation sadly is largely lacking.I don't know who's idea was it to have such a small housing for the electrical wiring, I tried 1.5mm standard UK cables for lightning and I really struggled, tried 1mm and that wasn't easy either.Using a cheap flex wire does work, but that is not "professional" unfortunately, is more of a hobbies/amateur thing. Finally, I decided to give it a go with the flex cables, I could not believe the buzzing that this device was making when dimming the lights.I tried to find a certificate to at least "trust" this device sadly there was none.Decided not to use it at the end.

much bigger than expected, easy to pair and use
The media could not be loaded. this is a zigbee inline dimmer switch from the brand iollol, i’ve been using dimmer switch from this brand for a long time, i found their product has good design and durable, i was so excited to try this new smart dimmer switch that can be used with my tuya smart home networkfirst of all, this switch is much larger than i expected, it looks like a floor lamp step switch than an inline dimmer switch, but still it’s made of good quality plastic, there are very small power cable ports on both sides, so it would expect standard thin light cables to use with itneed to disassemble the whole casing, including the knob for wirng, not difficult to do but i’m more happy if there are covers for wiring ports onlypairing with tuya network was easy, took less than a minute to finish, and it worked welli can control the power and dimming either with the app or with the knob, the app will shown the brightness level almost immediately when i turn the knob, however i noticed that there was something strange when i slide the brightness with the app, the brightness bar will go back and forth and stay in wrong position sometimes, not sure if it’s the app or the dimmerall in all, this product work as expected mostly, just if the size can be smaller, it will be perfect, i would recommend this producthope you find these information helpful

Flimsy, poor quality
This is a really badly designed piece of equipment. Bits of plastic floating about inside the case and very difficult to reassemble once the cable is connected. A very cheap, shoddy product.
