Almost a 5 Star....
The media could not be loaded. Overall I like this charging Dock for the Apple Pencil. It is stylish nice solid aluminum construction with a nice real wood bottom accent and with the weight and rubberized bottom it doesn't slide around easily on my desk, it pretty much stays put. I like the extra hole to store the end cap when charging or the entire pencil so when not in use you always know where it is. It charges my pencil from 8% to a full charge in about 1 hour 12 minutes. It does not comes with a charging cable so you need to provide an Apple or Apple Certified lightning cable for best results. The only other negative thing about it is the charge indicator light. When you insert your pencil for charging the light turns to a red/orange color and it is supposed to turn to green once fully charged. I have made several attempts charging the pencil and the light has never turned green once fully charged as the Instruction manual states it is supposed to. I know that my pencil is fully charged when I check the battery status on my iPad Pro. But can't tell by the indicator light on the Dock itself, it just stays the same red/orange color. A disappointment, but other than that and it doesn't come with a lightning charging cable these are the only 2 things that are negative with this Charging Dock.

Great Quality! Detailed Review Below...
I purchased this charger for our Apple Pencil for a couple reasons. For one the adapter that Apple provides you to connect the lightening cable to the Apple pencil is just begging to be lost and two, I don't like having to question if the pencil is charged and ready to go when I need to use it with the iPad Pro.Packaging: The unit comes in a 3.5" x 3.5" x 3" box that has a good appearance to it. Opening was box was quite simple and inside I found that the charging station was well secured. You'll just find a easy to read owners manual and the unit inside since this DOES NOT come with a spare lightening cable. Thankfully we had a spare one sitting around the house that I was able to dedicate to this stand. Rated 8/10 due to the lack of the lightening cable. I would prefer to pay a little extra to have the cable included.Build Quality: This is an area that really shines with this stand. It is built VERY well and has a nice heft to it. I would compare the weight of this to what your standard cell phone today weighs. I use that as an example since our phones weight enough to "feel" of value, but not so heavy that they're awkward to use. The same can be said about this charging station. The wood on the bottom appears to be genuine and the aluminum casing is solid and doesn't move or bend when pressure is exerted upon it. Overall this is a true 10/10, I don't really see where they could have improved on this.Energy Efficiency: I checked the efficiency of this unit with a Belkin F7C005 and found it to be very efficient! As you can see in the photos included with my review, the unit only uses a 1/2 of a watt while charging the pencil which in my area equates to 48 cents per year of energy use! Taking into consideration that you wouldn't be charging you pencil all year, that is a very efficient unit in my opinion. Also, I checked the energy usage while sitting stationary and the Belkin unit said that it was using less than 1/2 watt and couldn't provide more information for me since it was such a small draw.Comments: I read some earlier reviews that said they never saw the "green" light and instead the unit always had the amber light while the pencil was docked. I checked this myself and couldn't replicate the issue. After some time on the dock, the light changed to green and the battery status on the iPad said that pencil was fully charged. I also found the holding tray behind the Pencil docking area to be a great thought by the designers. This allows you to hold the cap to the pencil on board while the Pencil is charging.

A small device that solved the Apple Pencil charging issue
Now this was a product that I didn't even know existed. When I came across this I thought why not it looks like it works and it fits well into my desk setup. Now after having this and seeing it in person I would highly recommend this product to anyone that wants a better more convenient way to charge their Apple Pencil. This is a much better solution than sticking it in the bottom of ,the iPad Pro... like really Apple? I wish they had done something but this is why I love companies that come and try to solve those little issues that get overlooked and here Oittm has done it! The quality of the product is super solid, it doesn't not feel cheap in any way so don't let the price fool you. The top part is solid aluminum and the bottom has a nice wood finish to it. They have also added a rubber piece to the bottom so that it doesn't slide around on your desk. Now a lightening cable is needed for this to charge you Apple Pencil and they do not include one so don't forget to pick one up as well if you don't have any spare cables lying around. If you're a digital artist or someone that uses their iPad Pro and Apple Pencil on the daily I highly recommended adding this product to your desk setup!

Looks good, works good.
Perhaps not fully a five star product, but close. As others have suggested, the indicator LED seems to always be red when the pencil is plugged in, always green when not. I've only charged the pencil a few times, so perhaps I've just not been patient enough...though in each case the widget on my iPad showed 100% charge, with no change in the color of the LED. Another niggle is the wood base doesn't perfectly line up with the metal upper section (the diameter of the wood base is ever so slightly larger). I also wish that the hole to hold the cap while charging and the whole pencil when not, was tapered so the nib would rest more securely and hold the pencil more upright...as it is, if you store the pencil, nib down it tends to lean, just a little bit. These are all minor complaints. The biggest win is that I don't have to cram the end of a lightening cable and the female/female adaptor into an assemble-it-yourself metal base like all the other competing products seem to require. That lets me keep my adaptor in my laptop bag for travel, and this stand on my desk. It's fairly heavy and has a grippy rubber base. Bottom line, it does what it claims to do (provide a sturdy base to charge/store the pencil). If there's a better functioning or nicer looking charging stand for the Apple Pencil on the market, I've yet to see it.

Cool gadget, looks good, does what it says
Cool little gadget. Not sure what goes on with the charging indicator because if I go by that my Apple Pencil has never charged even though it has.All good though - does what it says it does :)
