Good power and battery life in a very compact size (and rechargeable!)
I just bought my second GoBe light because I was so impressed with how bright these lights are for their size. I have also found the battery life to be more than satisfactory considering that I usually run them on their brightest setting. I've left these attached to my gear for weeks/months after doing multiple dives, and they still had power the next time I went to use them. The interchangeable light heads are also a great function if you're interested in photography (spot beam, cool effects like red light and UV). I have used the spot light head as a focus light for my camera, but find myself using the wide light head the most as a general dive light.I also like that the vents around the light head allows this light be used above water as a normal flashlight without overheating (even condoned by the manufacturer!).The major con is the price. But I guess you get what you pay for?

Great customer support
The light never would charge beyond 50% and run time was too short over 21 dives in 2 months. Then it stopped working completely.Customer service had me try several things but none worked. Even though the short warranty period had expired they sent me a new body to solve the problem.

Refurbished product. It signaled red when lit and when the battery died, it did not charge.
It was not clear to me when ordering this from Amazon that this was a refurbished product. It signaled red when lit and when the battery died and I inserted it into the charger, it did not charge. I am returning the product asap. What is World Wide Scuba, anyway? An internet search does not give a clear answer, so beware!Light and Motion, on the other hand, is an excellent company in Cal, where I bought my last divelight a decade ago, so they have been advised about this ... scam, and I hope that Amazon takes appropriate measures. The elecronics in this divelight are very advanced, so it is no great wonder that the refurbishing of this light failed. But a responsible company would check before sending, shouldn't they!Lennart

It actually works!
I've had many issues with the dive lights from this company. For some reason though the gobe lights are the only ones that actually work. Usually the other style lights have some sort of manufacturing defect. This one is extra brights and totally affordable.

Good when it works
The lights are good when they work properly. I have two and there is NO way to tell the difference between the strongest lumens and the lowest lumens. That is to say, I have their top of the line light and their identical looking lowest lumen light and you can't tell one from the other. So with that said, think twice before you drop a few extra hundred for the stronger light. The light switch is quirky. They need to redesign the switch as it easily turns on and off accidentally if you jar it. There is a lock on it but again, it can be bumped and turned on inadvertently. This is a pain if you are on a night dive and the light turns on and blinds you or you are working on a project and it turns off OR it turns on in a dive bag and drains the battery. Switching between power settings can be a pain as there are three spot and three flood settings and to turn the unit off you hold the switch back for a few seconds. This means that when you turn the light off and back on you will not be at the same setting you were when you were last using it. There is a permanent lock for the light if you hold the light switch off for several seconds that prevents the light from being turned on but not something you will be doing every time you want to turn off the light. The charging system is good for the first few days or weeks but after a short while the contacts WILL corrode and the connection will deteriorate. You need to get into the little holes with a wire brush and clean them out periodically or it will not charge or charge properly. I would like to see a light that is a bit less labor intensive and maintenance free. All that said, these lights are about the best out there to date. Bright and crisp but pricey. The sealed battery means at best, after two years you will be throwing them out of sending them back to the factory for a new battery, if they still make the light.

Impressed by quality (so far)
I bought this light to go night lobster diving. I've blown through several UK D8 lights in the past. A friend of mine had this unit and loves it. So I bought one too.Its small, but 1000 lumens seems pretty bright. The quality seems good. HOWEVER, it has a wide beam. On my first dive the water was a little murky. Regular spots cut through it no probs, my wide beam just reflected of the murk and I had to revert to my UK back up.As it is (with wide lens) it it perfect for videography, but for underwater hunting for lobsters at night you need a SPOT (not a wide beam). I had to buy another spot lens for $64, and yes they're all interchangeable I believe. It brings the lumens down to about 800, but now its good for lobster diving. So all $ added up, its comparable to the UK D8 price range (and may have slightly less burn time ... we'll see) , but all-in-all it seems better quality than my UK's lightsIll try to update soon

bad switch
the switch is the weak point on the light and the one I got was bad. returned it and ordered another unit as the light is otherwise exactly what I want at an ok price
