Rhino Large View (4" X 2.6") + Grind - Auto Darkening Welding Helmet - Red RH16

This is a great hood for a beginner welder!

Overall I like the look and features of the helmet but the shell material seems a bit flimsy which is the only reason that I gave it a four star rating plus the fact that I haven't had time to use the item yet so I'm hoping everything works as it should. I did manipulate the helmet to simulate a rough working environment and was unable to break it so maybe the shell is flexible by design to avoid breakage. Head band adjustments are easy to manage and the faceplate view is a nice large size similar to my older manual helmet. I received this helmet Friday morning, well packed, in good condition. Assembly was a three, as I need the head gear in the position that gives the most space. When put in this position, the adjustment lever for tilt doesn't line up with the peg I need, but if you loosen the adjustment knobs and put the lever inside the peg it works fine. Now for how it works, I put it through eight hours of constant use last night and was well pleased. I have done production welding for 20 years. I have owned speed glass and various other brands of welding helmets. I made 1,600 3 inch welds last night with no problems of any kind. The sensitivity and shade controls work well, It is very light weight, so no neck fatigue. I believe this helmet is as good as my speed glass, at a third the cost.

The welding helmet is much better than Harbor Freight helmets that fail after a year. This Rhino reacts fast and is easy to wear. The only problem is how they ship the helmet without adequate packing and a very small box. My first order was severely damaged in shipping because of inadequate backing. Return was easy, but delayed me for a week and the refund took two weeks. Great helmet.

I replaced a cheaper helmet with this one and I love this one. Assembly was a little more difficult than I had anticipated but it is together and working great. I ordered additional lenses since I have a tendency to ruin them over time and i want to have new ones when I need them. It fits my head nicely and the adjustments let me set it so the lens aligns with my eyes and my glasses. I have a smaller head and I was concerned that it was going to sit to low, but that has not been an issue. I also keep this is a bag so it does not get dusty or scratched when it is not being used.

Nearly perfect for what I'm using it for. Big lense, and easy adjustment knob. The only think that would make it better is if it came with a bag to keep it clean and if the adjustment knob had detints to keep it from getting bumped out of the correct setting while I'm moving around. Good product.

I have been using this helmet for some time now and found the view is perfect but the helmet will not stay in the up position no matter how much I tighten the knobs.

I like the wide viewing lens and auto dimming but the helmet hinge mechanism leaves a little to be desired. Mine tends to not want to lower as far as I would like and comes loose very easily.
