WOW! What a Difference this has Made!
This is the best shoe I have ever worn. I have been suffering with plantar faciitis for some time and can't be on my feet for any length of time. When I go shopping with my daughter or my sister, you will find me sitting on a bench waiting for them to finish their browsing, and then on to the next shop and on it goes. I hesitated buying these shoes because of some of the unfavorable reviews. Some complained that the footbed was too hard. That kind of worried me. I have put these shoes in my cart and then deleted them several times. QVC aired these shoes one day along with Dr. Andrew Weil and two other men who have helped to develop this shoe. When they showed the model with terribly pronated feet, one foot without the shoe, and the other with the shoe there was such an incredible difference! He also drew a dotted line up the bone of her shin to her knee. When she took the shoe off, the line shifted which put an extra strain on the knee that also affects the hips and into the back. When she put the shoe back on, it all came back into alinement. After seeing this demo, it was no wonder I was in so much pain! The comment about the hard footbed still concerned me. I looked back at the positive feedback, and one by a nurse who is on her feet all day! I finally decided to make the purchase. Added it back into my cart and bought them before I backed out again. I have had the shoes for two weeks and all I can say is: WOW!!!! What a difference it has made. Surprisingly, the hardness of the footbed has not bothered me at all. My husband took me to a Spring Training game the other day. We were parked way out and we both were concerned about the walk. But I did fine. In fact, we left early because it started raining lightly, but could see, that a storm was moving in. We walked at a very fast pace to beat it, and I was able to keep up with him. Even he was amazed! My feet weren't even hurting! So, my recommendation is that if you are "sitting on the fence" with these shoes, give it a try. I am so glad that I finally did! Not only did I get these shoes, but I just came back to get some of Dr. Weil's slippers to wear around the house. If I can't go barefooted-which is very bad, these will be the next best thing-with the bonus of giving me support! Thank You Dr. Weil! Now if he would just bring us a dressy pair of shoes! :)

I wear either a 7 1/2 or 8, depending on fit, and in recent years 8 M usually fits better, although 7 1/2 W is normally a good choice but a rare find, and without trying these on in a store choosing 7 1/2 runs the risk of being too short if the toe box were comparatively short (it's not comfortable at all when your toe rubs against the front of the shoe - the toe box in these is NOT short). An 8 W is usually too big, requiring very thick socks. So took a chance and ordered these in 8 M. They indeed provide VERY good support, including a good arch support, are comfortable, and they fit fine - plenty of room but not too big - BUT WITH THIS EXCEPTION: seams running across bunion and bunionette (the little toe joint on outside of foot). These are quasi "orthopedic" shoes that I purchased to "nurse" a case of plantar facilitis, a condition not uncommon with "flexible arches" (flat feet), which is not an uncommon cause, in part or in whole, of bunions. From my perspective, shoes intended to be used for foot-support purposes as opposed to pure fashion should not have design elements that can be expected to aggravate common foot problems, especially problems particularly common with the very foot weaknesses the shoes are intended to support. An 8 W would have been WAY too big for my non-problematical foot, so for my problem foot I bought silicone bunion pads that loop around my big toe and peer bunionette pads that loop around my little toe. Also, after all these years, I finally broke down and bought a good shoe stretcher (which at long last will come in handy for other shoes as well). But shouldn't have had to do that. That said, note that the seams are not THAT restrictive and might have been fine after a "break in" period, but since these are intended to be my "long walk" shoes I don't want to run the risk of wearing them all day away from home and having to curtail or suffer through an otherwise fine outing because of throbbing bunions. Most of this shoe is very well designed and highly functional, but they need a bit of redesign regarding the tops. I've seen some complaints about the footbeds being "hard," but I don't find this to be the case. (The shoe lace material is annoying, though - a true nit.)

My feet are in paradise!!
Put these on right away and I felt like I had stepped into heaven. I was diagnosed with plantar fascitis three years ago and have heel spurs. I have had limited success with orthotic inserts, the arch support always felt like it was in the wrong place. Not with this shoe. The arch is perfect. And, now, I also have Achilles' tendonitis at the tendon attachment on the heel. My feet have hurt for so long that I can't recall what it feels like to walk without some pain somewhere. These shoes have given me so much relief in just the hour I've had them on that I might just marry them!I read several reviews prior to purchasing and noticed that sizing seemed to be an issue. I went to Vionic's website and used their measurement chart to pick the correct size. Make sure you place your weight on the foot you are measuring before you write down the size, as our feet spread out a little when we walk.

I am a nurse and these used to be great shoes for 10 hour shifts
I am a nurse and these used to be great shoes for 10 hour shifts, but this last pair I bought, which now say vionic instead of orthaheel, really hurt and do not help my plantar fasciitis . So disappointing they changed. Back to square one looking for a good work shoe.

Great shoe for plantar fasciitis!
True, these sneakers aren't the coolest looking sneakers I've ever had. I have had plantar fasciitis for years. I have never found a sneaker that I could walk or jog in that has left me with ZERO pain. This shoe has! I've had the sneakers close to 1 year and am still impressed. I'm no longer a skeptic and I will buy them again. They are well worth the money!
